A Thorough Look At Our Process.
HOW MATO WORKSHere’s an overview on how we work on a website project. In each step, there’s an open communication between you and us to ensure that we are on page every step of the way. As much as we (sometimes) think, that we know better, you are the customer and owner of the website so we won’t/can’t proceed without your approval.
Initial brand review and industry understanding
An initial online meeting between your company and us depending on the complexity of your business and our current knowledge of your industry. The goal is to understand your brand, and product or services and your vision for your website. We like to follow you around social media, read your reviews, and geek out on your current website to have that in-depth understanding of what your brand is all about.
From this stage, you will decide if you would like to proceed with the Scoping Phase:
Scoping Phase
e will have a talk and discussion on how you want your website to be going into details on the site map, wire framing and structure. We will also cover a review of your brand as this is the most effective way to determine how we can reflect your business goals on the website. This process will take 7 to 12 days.
The scoping phase is charged upfront and fixed at 100 USD*.
*The reason we charge for the scoping phase is because we will be using time and resources to review your website etc… using a safari industry expert, a designer and developer for inputs and we’ve had experience in the past with clients who would not continue with the project after all, putting all our efforts to waste (and not compensated). On your side, this will give you an idea on how you might want to move forward with your website and brand and can use the information we will provide for your own use and also even if you decide to use another supplier.
The output are files on wireframe, sitemap, etc…

What we need from you
Videos and images uploaded in Google Drive or similar cloud platform. We don’t accept files sent via email
Create the web design
We use a combination of Adobe XD, PDF, and JPEG files to present our draft. We usually start with the homepage to give a first impression of the design. When this is positively received, we continue with the rest of the pages. Otherwise, a second study is provided. Approval process back and forth here until we agree.
Tools we use: Adobe XD, Figma
Set-up the testing environment
This is used for testing and development purposes to ensure that new features and updates are thoroughly tested and free of issues before they are released to the live site. It provides a safe and controlled environment for developers and testers to work in, without affecting the live site or disrupting user experience.
What we need from you
Access to your current website
Access to your server
Develop the website
Depending on the complexity of the website, development phase usually takes between 30 to 90 days. If changes are made along the way, or there are delays in the approval process, this can prolong the project further. We update regularly with our progress, usually every 2 weeks.
How we communicate at this stage
Weekly emails. If you have questions, you can send us an email anytime, we always respond on the same day
Fill in the gaps
At this stage, we identify any missing content, pages, or functionalities that need to be added before the website goes live. This includes reviewing the existing structure, ensuring that all necessary sections are accounted for, and adding placeholder or final content where needed.
Common tasks in this step:
- Checking for missing or incomplete pages
- Filling in placeholder content with finalized copy
- Adding relevant images, videos, or graphics
- Ensuring the website meets the intended user journey
- Reviewing navigation and internal linking
This step ensures that no critical elements are overlooked, resulting in a complete and functional website.
Testing and Quality Assurance
A series of tests and evaluations that are conducted to ensure that the website is performing according to agreed design and functions. Among other things, we also test the design, and layout and if all the elements are working seamlessly together. Note that we do continuous quality checking althroughout the development process.
Launch
We make your website publicly available for users to access and use. For websites with already considerable traffic, possibly include a “we have just launched” pop-up message for possible minor errors as it usually is in the case of newly launched websites. We can also take this opportunity to gather feedback from users.
Quality Check
Further quality checking especially with multiple devices and various internet browsers. This will help us identify issues and areas for improvement, and ultimately improve the user experience and overall effectiveness of the website.
Turn-over
The moment we’ve all been waiting for. When both parties are happy with the results, we turn over all access, shake hands, and call it a day.
